Mold and mildew behind walls, and open walls where live, how dangerous is this?

I live and work at the same place and everytime it rains, which is often here, it floods my house, and they have torn down parts of my walls which are just bare open to brick, but there is soo much mold and mildew and my allergies are getting soo bad, and I take allergy and sinus medication prescribed by the dr. What I want to know is the guy that the contractor ect..who has been trying to fix this for over 6 months, says that mold and mildew will not hurt you that, it's a myth. I've heard otherwise, and I'm working and living in the same place and the owner has even called and blessed this guy out, about get it fixxed...am I wronge to start saying something about my allergies messing up and all, and living in ankle high water when it rains, which me living here is most of my pay, I don't make anything, but, I can't continue to live like this and the contractor says I'm crazy that mold and mildew won't hurt you..is this true or what...can anyone tell me about mold and mildew

I recently moved from a house that had mold and mildew in all the drywall. I have bad allergies to both, and when I finally got out of there, I could barely breathe at times. I took high doses of antihistamines just to keep the hives and skin rash at a bearable level -- forget curing it. My joints and muscles ached from the build-up of fluid caused by allergies and stress. And even my German shepherd had bad skin allergies because of the mold and mildew.

I've lived in my new, clean home since November. My sinuses and breathing have improved dramatically, and I haven't had a case of hives since we moved. My skin rash is drying up, and even my joints aren't as achy. And my German shepherd's skin is now back to normal.

Mold and mildew can cause severe allergic reactions in a lot of people -- even anaphylactic shock in some cases. (I've had that happen when I was exposed to a box of mildewed paper -- it's terrifying.) Your contractor just doesn't want to deal with the problem, that's all.

Call in the city or county health inspectors and have them evaluate the problem. They may even be able to help you get temporary housing elsewhere until the problem can be professionally treated. You need to get out of that environment ASAP, just for your own health and safety.

I'm not sure about that, but it seems like it could be possible. Histamines such as mold and mildew cause tissue swelling, fluid retention, and other problems that could contribute to numbness in the extremities. Talk to you doctor about that. Report It

mold can kill you or make you insane and severaly sick. it is a bacteria, so wear a mask when breathing around it. call a mold removal company.

Mold and mildew will hurt you and can make you very sick. You need to get out of there until this is totally fixed. Report this to your county health department so it gets on record and gets taken care of properly. Until this gets fixed you need to find other housing ASAP.

well mold can be deadly. simple as that. you may well have this black mold that is deadly in your home. if you do you have to have it all removed every speck of it and solve the problem that allows the mold to grow.
ventilation of a house is a great place to start in getting the problem to go away once you have had the dry wall removed and the outside problems solved make the rain run away from your house . seal the basement walls outside and inside.
then leave two windows open so as to allow a cross flow of air.
chlorine is the only thing that kills mold fast there are some enzymes that can do it as well. a professional home inspector will tell you how to solve the problem and what is needed to repair the mold problem that is already there.
if you have kids or old people in the home leave its that simple pack up and leave . your better off in a tent then in a home with deadly mold.
