Help! Green mold EVERYWHERE!?

I am living in an apartment that has a huge moisture problem due to the area of the world we are currently living in. I try my hardest to wipe down any excess moisture that occurs, but when I went to do that today, I found green mold in both my son's playroom AND his bedroom. When I pulled his shelves away from the wall in his playroom, I found a patch of green mold growing on the walls and what looked like black mold along the floor. I mixed a bleach and water solution and wiped it down immediately, opened the windows and closed the door to let it dry. Then when I went into his room, I pulled his clothes hamper that sits by his captain's bed away from the wall and noticed lots of mold behind it on the wall that trailed towards the bed. Well, when I pulled the bed away, the ENTIRE area was covered in mostly green mold... some of it looks black. I'm talking about a 3 1/2 x 6 foot area on the wall... not to mention what was on the floor. I'm freaking out. What should I do?

I'm thinking it's time to move. Right now the doors are closed and we're just waiting for my husband to get home from work. Any advice would be appreciated though. THanks and God bless!

Firstly it is important to understand that not all black mold is "The" black mold. Because you have moisture problems, the mold will continue to grow no matter how many times you clean it up. To help keep mold from growing in your apartment, I would recommend maintaining humidity levels below 50%. You may need to run a dehumidifier to achieve a lower humidity level. Your apartment can probably benefit from additional ventilation, as well. Whenever possible, operate fans, open windows, etc.

Also, what is the mold growing on? Sheetrock walls? If so, you may need to have a discussion with your landlord. You see, when mold is growting on a pourous substrate, like sheetrock, likely it has permeated through the material, making it impossible to clean. The affected portions may possibly need to be removed and replaced.

Definatly time to move babe, before it gets worse.

Good luck :)

Look for products like Damp Rid. It absorbs the moisture out of the air.

the areas affected need to be plastered,i had the same problem and the whole of the down stairs needed to be replastered, you need to be carefull with mold because it can cause health problems.

Mold can cause recurring infections and lead to asthma and respiratory issues. However Shaklee Organic cleaning products can kill off mold effectively from homes and clothing. You can try it and hope the problem will die. You should always keep your windows open a crack even during freezing weather, to neutralize the air and let out the humidity.

The Oprah鈥檚 Green Cleaning Kit special was extended until December 31st of 2007, so you can still get the deal that Oprah spoke about on TV. A link for all information is here http://www.passovercleaning.com/webpage.... good luck.
