Mold growing in dorm room, from water leak?

My best friend's dorm is leaking from the roof, which inturn is creating mold. There is red mold, and green mold...How hazarous is that situation...Shes got asthma, and her roomate has been really sick and woosey lately...She's feels like shes coming down with something, and mold triggers asthma...comments/concerns please...I want to help her out as much as possible just untill the night is over and somone is there to fix it tomorrow!

Don't fuss about the colour of the mold...any mold can be dangerous mold, don't spend time trying to figure out what species of mold it is....if you can do it yourself clean up the mold with damp sponges and some household cleaners. Be sure to wear protective gear so as not to breathe it in. Wash your clothes after cleaning the mold. Try using a product by 3M called Mold and Mildew Block, this will help prevent the mold from reoccuring. If you're nervous about doing it yourself get a mold specialist to come in and take care of the situation. Once it has been cleaned up, then rent or buy an ozone generator that will help kill any airborne mold spores (be careful however since ozone can trigger asthma attacks in some people) Other helpful devices would be a dehumidifer to remove any excess humidity in the air, and an air purifier. Avoid the rooms with the mold problem, they will definitely affect your health if you are exposed to the mold for a long period of time.

She needs to get out of there asap and report it to the dorm "manager"

maybe its best if she stay at your dorm until the roof is fix.

She needs to report that, it can be very dangerous especially if she has asthma. They should be able to relocate her temporarily while they fix it, there was a flood in one of the dorms here a few years ago and they temporarily relocated everyone til they got it all cleaned up and fixed.

Get theh ell out of the now! Mold is an airborn bacteria that will potentially kill you. It's like carbon monoxide poisoning. Silent, no scent, painless, deadly. Call one of those mold removal people. It could save you lives.
