Mold, Health Dept won't help? |
We are renting a home, I am pregnant and have an 18 month old with asthma. I went to the Health Dept. because of the mold and they did not even take my name or anything. I explained the problem and they acted like it was not a big deal when I know our health is suffering. We are looking for another home but I do not want this home to be rented out to some other family until someone takes care of the mold. What do I do or who can help me get the Health Dept. to do something about it? We are already paying for the mold tests, shouldn't that be the landlord's responsiblity? Ohio, black mold, in one area of the house. covered by wallpaper. (landlord did that to hide it), second is green/dark and has an weird smell. WOW! it's such ashame people like James in the above post know very little about the real chronic health affects of toxic mold that millions have suffered with, people like James are the ones that become infected with mold illness due to the fact of lack of knowledge and it happens everyday, people like James that have lack of knowledge of what toxic mold can do will move into a new place or forget to fix a water leak, etc etc and end up a victim of mold illness... anyway... yes it should be his responsibility, get a pest/termite control buisness to come and check it. Where do you live, because some of this depends on state? You are making a mistake on the fact that you assume mold is a problem even with asthma. Well, in fact it is not. You might look at the CDC, the center for disease control in Atlantal emphatically states that mold, even black mold or red mold or yellow mold is not a problem to 99.999999% of humans. |
