Mold and hives?

Can mold cause an 18 month old baby to get severe hives? My daughter has been getting very bad hives all over her body for the past couple of days, and we cant figure out what it is. Well our washer backed up and spilled all over the carpet a few times, so we lifted up a peice of the carpet in our bedroom and there is tons of mold under there.....Could this be the cause of her hives??

PLEASE, PLEASE get out of there and do not return! Mold can become deadly for anyone with an allergic reaction, especially infants. Mold can cause allergies and irritates the skin and lungs, but can also cause more severe problems. If this is toxic mold then your daughter can get a coating on her skin, causing the hives- this means it could also infect the lungs. Mold spreads quickly and is exceedingly hard to get rid of- from personal experience, it can literally be fatal. Please get out!!!

It might. It can also attribute to trouble breathing and allergies...

Yes I deal with it everyday I have allergies to mold, mildew,Dust
and on fragile skin u can get hives so please get her tested

The human body can react to mold by producing hives, yes. There are toxic molds, some of which grow in people's houses. About 10 years ago there was a jump in cases of toxic mold. See my sources for more, good luck,

Hives are even larger on the inside of the skin and could be life threatening on a small child ,Also her throat could close .Get her to a doctor ,get rid of the mold Don't take her back in there .Medicine can also cause hives .And certain foods .
