Is this mold toxic? |
So, I went down into the basement of my apartment building yesterday to get organize my storage unit. Absolutley everything I own was covered in this thic, pasty, Yellowish mold. I was going through my stuff, assessing the damage when my nose, throat and eyes started to feel itchy and burn. Needless to say, I left and called my landlord. She says was aware of the problem (thanks for telling me) but did not know if the mold was toxic or not because she hadn't had anyone test it. I'm going back down to throw out most of my stuff with a mask and gloves, but does anyone know if this kind of mold is toxic? It's a yellowy-brown color and its pasty. It's all over everything too, not just wood and fabric. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. It is VERY unhealthy, if landlord does not get it taken care of right away, call health department, they will make her get it done. |
