Does having Mitral Valve Prolapse cause you to lose weight? |
I was diagonosed with mitral valve prolapse about 6mths ago and have been taking bisoprolol and i was only 105 when i started taking the medicine and now i only weight 89. I have been eating normally. I'm not starving myself, i wanted to know is it the condition or the medicine that is causing this problem or could it be something else? NOt really. My aunt had a MVP & she was extremely thin- not on any meds at all. My best advice is to see your physician ASAp. Also, contact your pharmacist to see if the weight loss is a side effect. Your pharmacist is better trianed than your physician. Good luck!! I'd contact your doctor about this. You are getting too thin. MVP is a fairly common finding on cardiac echoes, most people don't have any symptoms, but you must have been having some to be on the medicaiton. The MVP itself has no association with weight loss. The medicine can cause fatigue or a tired feeling. |
