Is it safe for someone with a mitral valve prolapse to have children? |
I have mitral valve prolapse (which means that my mitral valve doesn't close properly). I am not ready to have children yet. I was just wanting some information before I have kids. The mitral valve is located in the heart. It means you have a broken heart. You can't love, and you need to find love to have children. Sorry, sister, you're out of luck. mickjam you are a moron. i have mvp and am 5 months pregnant. mvp is usually no big deal. usually. sister, so your homework elsewhere...not here where your answers are subject to ignorance. Report It You should consult you cardiologist. Pregnancy puts a lot of strain on your entire body. definitely consult your cardiologist and gyn. Depending on the severity, you may need to go forward with a few minor tests to see if your heart can handle the strain. good news is that i do know some people with MVP who have gone on to have healthy children. When you do get pregnant, you will surely have to keep things easy. good luck NO ,not at all, Pregnancy increases the workload of heart which may start trouble,so it is safe not to have baby ,even heavy sexual activities.See your cardiac surgeon ,if indicated &suggested after investigations, get operated ,cured and then have baby healthily and happyly. May God bless you. |
