Does this sound like Mitral Valve Prolapse?

ok well i get really sharp chest pains, and sometimes my heart just starts beating really fast. I also get really dizzy..and have even passed out twice. I take dance classes and just recently i've noticed that it takes me a lot longer to catch my breath after dancing. I also get sharp pains in my head (going to headache docter to see if they are migraines). My fingers are cold basically all the time. Does this sound like Mitral Valve Prolapse? My friend has it and her symptoms sound just like mine so i was just wondering..

oh and i'm 15 if that makes any difference..

I myself am an MVPer and those symptoms are all classic mitral valvue prolapse. Chest pains, palpitations, and dizziness are the most common symptoms of the disease. The best thing that you can do is go and see your GP. MVP can usually be detected initially by your GP because there is usually a murmur of the heart that accompanies the condition.

Your GP will be able to refer you to a cardiologist where you will have to have an ultrasound or echocardiograph that will be able to show where the prolapse is, and any other conditions (I also have a ventricular septal defect that was found).

It may also be worth looking into a condition called Dysautonomia. It is a disease of the central nervous system and is very closely linked with mitral valve prolapse.

there are many different things it could be. One thing is for sure. You need to tell your parents and get a good checkup from the doctor, just to be safe.

you know i had those same symptoms and i still get chest
pain sometimes , and i checked out my heart , i wore a holter
monitor for 2 days , did ekg , ultrasound , heart stress test
and passed flawelessly and am healthy as a horse ,
just because you have chest pains it doesnt mean you
have heart problems , the body works mysterious.

also you are way too young for this.
