Miscarriage...????

I had my first miscarriage 5 months ago. i didnt know how far along I was. one Dr. told me 6 weeks, and another Dr. told me I was only a few weeks because mt hcg level was only 60. But that was after I had been bleeding for like 3 days. All together i bleed for 3 weeks. I'm pregnant again and I'm about 4 or 5 weeks. I have beeen doing alot of research in miscarriages and it seems like everyone who has a micarriage, has two or three more after the first. How do iI know If I'm gona have another one??

The 1st trimester is always the toughest! It's not even known how many miscarriages there are. You know when a woman says, "I was late and my period was heavy", it's possible that she had a miscarriage. I don't work as an embryologist, but I do understand that it happens often due to something wrong with the fetus. NOT YOUR FAULT. It's natures way of taking care of things. Right now try to keep cool. The fetus needs for you to not be stressed out. Spend time with friends and communicate openly with your doctor about all your worries and concerns. I used to work in an E.R. and the women who came in had/having a spontaneous abortion varied greatly. For many of them it was their first. I wish you well. You'll be ok!!

I don't think there is no proven research saying you'll have another miscarriage after your first. Most women miscarry in the first few weeks. But it can happen I *think* up to the third or fourth month. Afterwards, your chances drop.

i'm sorry to read of your miscarriage and i pray that everything goes well for you and baby during this pregnacy.

first, YOU are your best doctor. monitor everything you are feeling. if it doesn't feel right, DON'T WAIT call and NAG your doctor IMMEDIATELY. when you use the restroom ALWAYS look at the tissue for any hint of pink for bleeding. if you have a DUMB doctor like my sister, he/she will probably say that it's normal to have some discharge and it may appear pink. BULL$*@! switch doctors. that faint pink discharge on the tissue was the beginning of my sister's miscarriage!

express your concerns to your doctor. (i would suggest a female doctor who has had kids. a man can only tell you what he's read in a book). she should then monitor you VERY CLOSELY during your first tri-mester and you should be seen as a high risk pregnancy. now that you know that you are pregnant, take things easy in everything you do. read up on pregnancies and miscarriages so you can have some idea of what type of questions to ask which will allow you to communicate with your doctor during your visits. don't just lay there and let him/her poke, stick, press, and feel you then on to the next patient. ASK QUESTIONS and MAKE them EXPLAIN what they mean by...
