Is it possible to have a mini-stroke? because i fell asleep with my legs crossed in front of the TV and when i

got up to put a tape in the vcr i triped because i cant lift my right foot, which i cant use! that muscle that lifts my right foot is not asleep but i cant use it so if its a stroke that only affects that part of my leg, ordid i get nerve damage from sleeping with my legs crossed?

or is it something i head of but know nothing about called drop foot?

HELLO,
SLEEPING WITH CROSSED LEGS MIGHT HAVE CAUSED SOME LOCALIZED TEMPORARY MUSCLE ATROPHY. THIS IS EASILY TREATED WITH PHYSICAL THERAPY AND SPECIAL EXERCISES.

I'm not sure about the possibility of nerve damage from sleeping with your legs crossed...seems strange, but not impossible.
It is possible to have a mini-stroke, but I think those have similar symptoms of a regular stroke. I would look at this website and check your symptoms against that: http://www.stroke.org/site/PageServer?pa...

If you think you had a stroke, it is very important that you get to the hospital as quickly as possible (i.e. immediately, not a few hours down the line).

Yes, it is called transient ischemic attack (TIA, or 鈥渕inistroke鈥? or a minor stroke. I don't think you can have one from crossing your legs and sleeping though. It isn't something caused by physical movement, rather physical movement is a symptom of it. You should definitely go to the ER if you think you have had a stroke and have any of the symptoms. It may only be a neurological incident not stroke but it is always better to be safe than sorry with stroke or heart attack symptoms, and not being able to use or feel a part of your body is definitely a stroke symptom.
