What is the treatment for a mini-stroke please?

Occurred as a result of a physical assault.

Lightheadiness, confusion (loss of concentration), loss of balance, perpetual headache.

Aged 55.

Feels like I am drunk all the time as well.

So sorry about the assault. Hopefully you are seeing a doctor. Physical therapy and drug treatment would be the way to go. And time. Someone I know had a mini-stroke and he is getting better every day. He would be MUCH better if he would do the therapies prescribed but he is hard headed and won't. So good luck to you and do what your doctor and therapists recommend and you should recover very well. Again, so sorry about the assault.

Depends on the age of the person and the amount of damage that's been done, plus any other problems they may have already had.
Even elderly people can recover amazingly well from a full stroke, so if the person is young and healthy they probably have a pretty good prospect for recovery.
Treatment would involve assessment and physical therapy.

They are called TIA'a or Transient Ischemic Attack. The use of antiplatelet agents, particularly aspirin, is a standard treatment for patients at risk for stroke. People with atrial fibrillation (irregular beating of the heart) may be prescribed anticoagulants. Since TIA's happen so quickly it is really hard to get treatment before they are over. I had a few before having heart surgery when I was 23. My only symptom was that I could not see in half my vision. It lasted only about 15 minutes and then my vision was restored. After the heart surgery, I never had one again.
