Migraine ? |
I get a couple migraines a month. They are always on my left side and hurt like hell. I usually get them in the evening so I can just go to bed and when I wake up they are gone only I have a lot of pressure on my right side - not pain, just pressure that usually goes away after mid-day. I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem and if they have any tips on how to make it feel better without having to go to sleep. And Excedrin Migraine, it says to only take two tablets in a 24 hour period, can you take three if two just does not work? I would NOT take excdedrin magraine because it is full of caffeien, and when it wears off you are susceptible to rebound migraine, which sounds like the pressure you are feeling on the right side. It's better to talk this over with your doctor. When I experienced migranes I got warning signals with my vision and if I didn't take medication and rest in a darkened room I would be in misery for hours. Stress and undiagnosed eye trouble were the triggers for my migrane. I haved had one for years and I hope I never do again. I hated them Hey, I have had migrains forever. I always get them with my seizures. It is okay to take extra Excedren however if you take it too often you can develope ulcers as it contains whatever that drug is. It can also cause ulcers to bleed, so be carefull. Avoid bright lights and the television when you are getting a migrian. It is also time to talk to your doctor. You need to be safe and make sure there is no underlying cause. Also, the doc can perscribe imitrex or some such medicine to take when you get a headach, or a preventative medicine like topomax, although it has some rough side effects. In the meantime my advise is what my neuro tells me avoide the c's..... caffine, chardinae (all alchohol for that matter, it constricts the blood vessels), cheese, and chinesee food. For whatever reason each of these things can cause or worsen migrains. I know how much they suck, so good luck. I have suffered from Migraines for years now, so I have plenty experience on this matter. (Too much if you ask me.) Taking three tablets of your Excedrine won't hurt. I've for years taken OTCs (over the counter) Medication to alieviate my Migraines, but unfortuanatly, they don't work on me. i suffer from migraines too so i understand your pain! when i get mine i lose my vision beforehand so it's really scary. i decided that i had enough and i went to the doctor and they gave me prescription migraine medication. you shouldn't have to live with that pain and there are medications that should help. definetly go to a doctor and try to record the dates of your migraines, mine happen around the time of my period. i hope you feel better =). We have treated 15 - 20 yrs cases. |
