Migraine........?

i woke up with a migraine this morning then i took some panadol and it eased off for the rest of the day. during the day i started to feel a bit nauseous but nothing too severe. it got a bit worse during the afternoon but not the point of vomiting. later that night after tea i suddenly got stomach and bowel cramps and very nearly threw up. i could feel it in my throat but i managed to pull through. i then suffered from constant burps for an hour and then i was fine again.

do you think this was related to the migraine or does nausea and vomiting only happen during the migraine or several hours after it?

if it had been a migraine you would not have been able to work at all. It knocks you for six and all you can do is lie in a darkened room with a cold compress on your head. If you are sick it may clear quicker, but it usually takes 24-48 hours.
it sounds to me that you probably had a bad headache and maybe an upset stomach. What had you had for tea? was it spicy food? the cramps and burping sounds suggest it may have been. not related to your headache at all.

to avoid migraines watch out for common triggers:
red wine
Orange juice
cheese (particularly cheese with E160b food colouring)
chocolate
stress
lack of sleep
alcohol
time of month

Obviously you cant avoid all these, but when they are all combined then you are in danger of an attack. Take headache tablets immediately you feel it coming (i usually get mine in the middle of the night) If I bother to wake up and take tablets i can usually keep it at bay.

A migraine headache is a throbbing or pulsating headache that is often one sided (unilateral) and associated with nausea; vomiting; sensitivity to light, sound, and smells; sleep disruption; and depression. .
