Migraine = shot or pills?

I've had a migraine on & off since about Thursday. I had some pain pills for my painful bladder disorder and they helped some but now they are gone.
I took some Excedrin Migraine this morning when I felt it returning and so far it has done nothing.
I'm thinking of calling my OB/GYN to see if they'll call something in for me to help me get rid of this headache. I've talked to my OB/GYN about migraines before so they have it on record. I've taken Midren (it's a pill you take 2 the first the migraine hits then you can take 3 more 1 every hour. 5 at the max). So I thinking that is what they may call in.
But I've also heard you can get a shot to get rid of the headache.
What should I request? I've never had a shot before to get rid of a migraine.
Any advise would be great. The nausea from the headache this morning was awful. I rushed to the restroom with an upset stomach and almost threw up due to it.

my mother has suffered with migranes for years, taking all different pills, some would work some wouldnt.. she is now on maxill... it is for migranes, and it works wonders she says.
