Migraine information? |
I am 24 and I started getting migraines at a really early age. Some times a year it's better then others, but I generally get them at least once a week. Where I live we get chinooks (warm front that comes over the mountains) and it can be -20 one day and then plus +10 the next day, and if there's a chinook then I get a migraine. In the summer it's nice out and then starts to rain, I get a migraine. The doctor put me on difenac but it caused such severe stomach pains that it wasn't worth it. I've tried Immitrex as well and it didn't work. My doctor says that I get environmental migraines. Since I live at such a high altitude, that any change it pressure gives me a migraine. Does anyone have any sort of problem that is similar, and what has worked for you. My boyfriend suggested getting tested for diabetes. I was the same. Around ages 7-14 i would get head aches litteraly every day. I almost forgot what it was like to not have a head ache adn be able to run around out side without my head starting to thump. I would get them averyday after school. Now i rarely get them and if i do i treat with advil before it turns into a mirgrane. my daughter uses maxalt.. I think high blood pressure of stomack poblem's Try taking either Motrin/ Ibuprofren or the Imitrex with something like coffee or hot tea. This will dilate the vessels and relieve the pressure. plz dont think i'm crazy but i had a migraine a couple of weeks ago and it never fully went away. i went to a massage therapist, and it went completely away. i had another one the other day and i'm thinking about going back again. I used to live in NYC and had migraines since high school...they were awful...would last four + days...the upset stomach...bright light sensitivity...the works...I tried everything...and at one time there was this great med over the counter...then I started getting them more often...my body liked the drug and caused me to get more headaches...so I threw the pills away...then one friend told me about GREEN TEA...she told me that it would make them go away...and yep I didn't believe her...but she came at the onset of a really bad one and I had the green tea...sure enough it was gone in fifteen minutes...been on green tea ever since and have NOT had another...I later moved from the east coast...still drink the tea but have not had another since the green tea started...so try it you might like it......good luck I live in Missoula. I have migraines which are made worse by changes in the barometric pressure. I have tried lots of things, medicines and treatments. I have found an acupuncturist who has helped me. My migraines were caused by hormonal problems, so I can't really relate to the types of migraines that you are suffering from. But my migraines were very severe and I got 3 to 5 a month. Mine settled in over my right eye and right side of my head, sometimes going into my neck. I would get nauseaous, had problems with light and smells. Imitrex did not work for me either. I tried several others and finally found a drug called Frova, that worked very well for me. First, there is no diagnosis, IAW the International Headache Society Standards called an environmental migraine. When health care providers use terms like this, they are in a way brushing you off. It is kind of like saying, I can't help the weather. The coldness energy of your body is excessive. |
