What happens when you take Lamictal (for bi polar) and methamphetamine (speed) at the same time?

I've been using meth for two years. I went to rehab in December and I've been seeing a pshychiatrist since I got out. She prescribed me Lamictal for my bi-polar and I was taking it as prescribed for a month. I relapsed a week ago though and stopped taking my medication because I didn't want to combine the two. I know that the medication is still in my system though and then meth was as well. What are the effects of the combination of Lamictal and methamphetamine? What kind of harm to my brain am I causing? What can happen?

The meth will ruin your brain all by itself... along with the rest of your body.... have your teeth fallen out yet? You need to go back to the psychiatrist and tell him / her what's going on. I'd say that meths goes with nothing.

Well first of all most medications prescribed to treat bi-polar disorder and many other mental disorders take about 6 weeks to become fully active in your bloodstream and work effectively. With that being said, I have to say that stopping your medication so that you could continue your Meth use says that your addiction is of more importance than your mental health. As far as what damage is being done to your brain from mixing the two, the damage to your body and brain will be significant enough just from the Meth use alone. I strongly suggest contacting your psychiatrist to try and get back on "the wagon". I cant stress the importance of your recovery enough. This drug will kill you eventually and there is a lot of evidence that Meth users have a higher incidence of bi-polar and other mental disorders and that the use of Meth actually makes the conditions and symtoms of these disorders worse. Please care enough about yourself to get the help you need to live the life you deserve. Until then, this drug will continue to rob you of all that is you. Back to your question, mixing narcotics with ANY drug is severely dangerous and can cause a number of problems including coma, permanent cognitive dysfunction and death. The choice is yours, I hope you make the right one.

Your going to get yourself picked up, or hospitalized. How much do you need to speed. And most importantly, are you running it? You'll die from the staff infection in your blood vessels before your teeth will rot. Big killer of junkies. Rots the heart valves eventually, no hope after that. Plus other secondary infection, gange green, abscesses, HIV. there are plenty of bugs.. Plus the wonderful crowd of people you get to meet in the drug biz. I'm not sure if some of the super bad things quoted by the others are really true, we used to dispense 5 tabs of dexamphatamine to our pilots in Thailand prior to combat ops, the US Gov didn't mind giving those boys a boost, but meth, from a underground lab ain't Johnson and Johnson. Lots of filth in some stuff. Cut back and stop if you can.
