It is closely related chemically to amphetamine, but the central nervous system effects of methamphetamine are greater. Both drugs have some medical uses, primarily in the treatment of obesity, but their therapeutic use is limited. The central nervous system (CNS) actions that result from taking even small amounts of methamphetamine include increased wakefulness, increased physical activity, decreased appetite, increased respiration, hypethermia, and euphoria. Other CNS effects include irritability, insomnia, confusion, tremors, convulsions, anxiety, paranoia, and aggressiveness. Hyperthermia and convulsions can result in death..{.it was easer to copy paste this then write it out my self} Speed You can type that into your search engine and it will tell you, but, as a former addictions employee, it is speed and deadly. Its another name for crystal meth. Have a look on this, it will tell exactly what it is and everything else you might want to know. Methamphetamine is a stimulant with effects similar to a combination of supercharged caffiene and antidepressants. When a person first uses meth, they feel energetic, happy and indestructible. The drug mimics the effect of adrenalin and it appears to increase the levels of dopamine, norepinephrine and serotonin, which control a person's mood. Meth is extremely addictive because the feelings are so good while the drug is present, but it depletes the brain of the natural chemicals that make you feel good. So, as soon as the drug wears off, the person is miserable for a few days unless they take more meth. Methamphetamine (methylamphetamine or desoxyephedrine), popularly shortened to meth, is a psychostimulant drug used primarily for recreational purposes, but also prescribed for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder or narcolepsy under the brand name Desoxyn. |
