Has anyone heard of Metabolic Syndrome? |
My 14 year old child has recently been diagnosed with. They have her on high bloodpressure medicine also. The medicine has been working well until this week and it had to be increased from 10mg a day to 20mg twice a day. Metabolic syndrome, also called syndrome X, is characterized by excess abdominal fat causing at least two of the following: insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, and hypertension. Causes, complications, diagnosis, and treatments are similar to those of obesity. sure! High blood pressure, high blood glucose, usually overweight, headed for a stroke or heart attack, high cholesterol. a precursor to diabetis diagnosis. it is associated with CV issues.
