My husband Has a wierd stomach problem that no Dr. can seem to diagnose, can anyone relate?

Okay. At first it just looks like acid-reflux, but its more like compulsive vomiting throughout the day. He can control the compulsion to some degree, and manages to not loose all of his nutrition. However, the stomach Acid is damaging his esophegus (sp?). He has been tested for Celiac Spru, Stomach Paralysis, and he's not allergic to meat or dairy. He doesn't smoke, drink coffee or eat acidic foods. It can happen 5-10 times a day before or after meals and also between meals altogether. If you have anything like these symptoms or have a guess as to what is the culprit, please drop me an email. Also, one more strange thing is that all throughout his childhood he would compulsively eat plain table salt. I have heard that this was indicitive of a metabolic disorder, but I can't find out anything more about it.

No, he has not had a colonoscopy. He has had an endoscopy and some sort of digestion test, where he drank radioactive stuff and then they watched him digest it. Both showed nothing.
Its hard to answer the question about his current symptoms because he tries very hard to prevent himself from actually throwing up . With a lot of concentration and relaxation, he is able to not loose his food-so its kind of like heaving but he is usually successful at keeping the food inside and not out. When it does occasionally come out its kind of whiteish. it doesn't seem to be associated with any specific time of day (although without fail first thing in the morning he has it). like i said before, it can be bore meals, right after a meal, when he's really hungry, when he's not, etc. However, it doesn't seem to affect his appetite at all. He eats many times a day, though on days where is stomach is worse, his portions are smaller. He hasn't had any head trauma, headaches, or really any other problems.

It is not simple to answer this question.A wide spectrum of Organic to Psychiatric disorders may be in the list.It could be anything out of proportion to Gastrointestinal (GI) tract !

Organic disorders should be ruled out first.
tell me about :
onset-duration
amount -content-colour of his vomits(blood -bile )
is it : force-full- with retching ?
is it in the morning ?
what brings it on ?
does he feel thirsty ? any dry mouth ? faint ?
are there any :
Pain-Fever - weight loss - early satiety-loss of appetite-Diarrhea or constipation
skin colour changes-dark stool-abdominal distention-

tell me about his Past Medical History:
kidney-liver-disease ?
gall stones ?
headache ?
head trauma?
diabetes?
abdominal surgery ?

Does he take any medications like:
Aspirin

Alcohol ?

What is the Endoscopic result ? what are the Blood tests results

Yes , Metabolic disorders like Adrenal deficiency is on list of differentials but of course needs more investigations. GI problems should be ruled out first though.

He might have acid reflux disease? I have no idea, I've never heard of such a thing. Sounds awful though.

find a doctor that can help......keep going till you do

Oh I'm sorry I don't have an answer but I just wanted to say good luck with all of that and I hope everything works out for the best.

He is drinking behind your back

I had something similar to that when I was younger and for a year no doctor could tell me either. They're probably going to do him how they did me. Test things out on him, you know like meds and tests until they find something to control it. Good luck and I wish you two the best.

He needs to keep going back to the doctors till there is a doctor out there who can find out what his problem is.

hmm very strange. i am related to a man who was diagnosed with Wegener's disease and he had stomach problems where taking acid reflux pills helped though he didnt have acid reflux disease.. nothing else seems to be connected besides that its a weird disease and it has to do with stomachs and something about acid reflux. sorry i have no idea what to tell you.

he more or likely needs a good psychologist even though he has physical symptoms it is probably emotional related subconsciosnesly it can possibly be a form of stress relief. If you try to stop him from vomitting does he get stressed out please see a psychologist it sounds as if by his diet that and health habits that this might be the way to go. there could be an underlying anxiety disorder.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome, if there is no organic cause.

Has he had a colonoscopy? I know someone who had a similar problem and it turned out he had a tumor in his colon. Hope all goes well.

FIRST : HE SHOULD TAKE SOME TABLETS WHICH MAKES HIM TO CLEAN HIS STOMACH .
SECOND : TRY TO DRINK HERBAL TEA ( MARAMIA ) ASK FOR THAT IN ARABS HOUSES
