What is life expectancy of someone with malignant mesothelioma?

Stage 1...how long: Stage 2...how long; Stage 3...how long; Stage 4...how long?

My dad and uncle both had it. My dad made it about 2 3/4 years, and my uncle made it 9 months. I'm not sure what the different lengths of the stages were, but it is a very aggressive form of cancer.

I looked this up and it said the average life span is one year but, I couldn't find anything on the length of each stage. I'm sorry you even have to ask this question.

it all depends, generally, just like other cancers, the further the stage, the less the life expectancy. My father had it, and battled for 18 months, they were a little unclear as to his exact stage, but it had traveled to on of his lymph nodes. However, I know of people who were diagnosed over five years ago and still fighting the good fight. There is a great support group at acor.org on the email lists.
