Mercury release when amalgam fillings are replaced by composite fillings? |
I recently had 5 amalgam (mercury-based) fillings removed and replaced with the newer composite fillings. I've had no complications directly related to the fillings and the dental assistant aspirated during the entire process. However, after this was all done, I read that mercury could have been 'released' into my body during the procedure, since the old fillings must literally be drilled out of your tooth. This really concerns me. What can I do to purge this mercury from my body short of DMPS chelation? Based on what I read, DMPS is not something I would consider. Also, what signs should I look for related to mercury toxicity? I have to admit, since this was done 4 weeks ago, I have experienced more fatigue than normal, even though I am getting more rest than normal (8-9 hrs sleep per nite). My gym work outs are less frequent (usually 4-5x per week) are not as intense or long (I have less energy). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Butter chelates mercury from the body as well as alpha lipoic acid found in apples or purchased at a health food store in supplement form |
