YEAS SO I AM AT MY GRANDPARENTS AND THEY STILL HAVE A OLD FASHION THERMOMETER, WITH MERCURY. ANYWAYS I WWAS FEELING HOT SO THEY CHECKED MY TEMPRETURE, I PUT THE THERMOMETER AWAY AND THEN ACCIDENTLY DROPPED IT. i IMIDEITALY PUT IT IN A BAG AND TTHREW IT OUT. THR TING IS THAT IT WAS GLASS AND THE GLASS BROKE BUT I DIDNT SEE ANY MERCURY THAT SPILLED OUT . WHAT SHOULD I DO ? You got more mercury shot into you with all the immunization shots you took as a kid, it is used as a preservative in those things. Go play in mud. Your fine... Just mop the floor. It's okay, you don't need to panic. Mercury is only dangerous if you let it seep into your skin. Just be careful. You should freak out!! Just kidding...look again and then tell your grandparents to be on the look out for the mercury. idk just get any pets away and dont touch it wipe the area down clean the spot where it hit the ground with bleach just to be sure. You'll be fine, so long as you didn't ingest or snort any of it. Back in the day, they used to let children play with mercury, and most of them were fine. you cant throw away mercury, its a poisonous substance and you will poison our food supply. You should look up local chemical disposal companies and services. It doesnt matter if there even is mercury in your house. As long as your not swimming in it or ingesting it. Its not radioactive or anything. EVACUATE!!!! NOW BEFORE YOU DIEE! .............. Okay, first of all. It isn't going to hurt you. Just make sure you tell your grandparents that you broke the thermometer. The "mercury" in the thermometer isn't real mercury, so it isn't going to kill you or anything like that...besides it's hecka fun to play with. Secondly....I agree with some of the other people, don't eat off the floor - not because of the "mercury" but because that's just disgusting! |
