Anyone heard of Mercury in fillings can make you sick? |
I am asking this as I am researching on whether the silver fillings (mercury) played a part in numerous years of being sick in the washroom, after using toothpaste, morning or night...I gag and choke on mucus buildup in my throat, I tried from warm water n' salt...Mouthwash, switched numerous toothpaste brands, lemon tea with honey...All that didn't help, I was still struggling and gag on it... Here's the 2nd pt I forgot to add on, and hopefully this would help more in depth. I have more the 5 cavities...For some strange reason, I lost my hearing in 91' and balance problems, bad reaction to muslce relaxant, am allergic to nickel jewllery & latex...Would all this happen because of the mercury silver fillings I had since 91'...?? You sure the fillings are mercury? Mercury has been known to be toxic forever. The phrase "Mad as a hatter" came from the people molding hats with mercury. It gave them brain damage! I know that for awhile the amonia in toothpaste used to make me a little nauseous/caused my eyes to burn. So, what do you do now? You have to clean your teeth! Well, I know that most dentists dont use the silver fillings anymore because of the mercury. I would ask the dentist to remove them and use the new kind. I read somewhere that mercury in the fillings do react with the chemicals in the toothpaste. Better ask a specialist. My teeth are done with laser and I am fine. Yes, Very Old News. . . sex drunfs and rock and roll I have MS and there has been alot of discussion as this being a possible cause of MS but I have never seen anything overwhelmingly convincing but I do have mercury fillings. I could not find a dentist who would take them out and you have to be careful that someone very experienced does the removal or they could cause you much more harm in the removal process than having them in your teeth. There are a lot of people who believe that mercury in fillings can be toxic--by the way, people, the mercury is in "silver amalgam" fillings. Sometimes called simply "amalgam." The word "mercury" is never mentioned. And they are still used as the most common filling. I have a friend with a PhD studying mercury in the environment, and she says that yes, there's mercury in the fillings, but no more than are in the fish we eat. In other words, there's some, but not enough to be really dangerous. But the symptoms associated with mercury are not at all like the symptoms you describe having. It sounds to me like you might have a psychological aversion to toothpaste? Look up amalgam in Wikipedia. Its is the common alloy used for fillings and a mix of silver and mercury. Silver, by the way, is absolutely non-toxic. Its never been established that the Mercury in fillings leaches out to cause any problems. ive heard that but i think it is just a rumor has been pretty well debunked and disproven. doubt it has anything to do with your fillings Very doubtful that mercury is the problem. First, mercury would not make you sick for a short time and then go away until your next brushing. If the mercury level in your system were high enough to make you sick, you would stay sick until you received treatment. It is an accumulative problem that doesn't come and go quickly. It is a good idea to have your fillings replaced if possible, because they do slowly leech mercury into your system, but I would search elsewhere for the answer to your problem. I gag and choke if the toothbrush gets near the back of my tongue whether I am using toothpaste or not. The problem could be psychosomatic. Don't laugh, those types of problems are very real and very hard to diagnose. Do you still choke and gag when brushing without toothpaste? Good luck Dear! |
