How are people with mental retardation treated in society?

Not the way they should be...it seems like people are so insensitve to other people's feelings sometimes and its bad....

They are just people just like everybody else and sometimes society tends to step on them...imagine how they must feel when this happens...its really sad.

Everybody should be treated equally.

Far better than they used to be, but there are still too many people who look down on them.

Mostly awful. The lack of understanding and compassion us human beings are capable of is most shocking.
