Mental Health Rehabilitation? |
My bf came with me on a backpacking trip to AZ. He had a light heat stroke and did not proceed to nurse himself properly by drinking lots of fluids and eating right. Shortly thereafter, he contracted viral meningitis. He is recovering but his mental health is far from normal. He is moody, short tempered, highly irrational and lies about everything. His physical appearance lacks concern or refinement as well. I think he's addicted to pain killers too. Anyone have any advice or insight on his future mental health? I'm already going to leave him but I'm curious if he will ever be normal again. Yes, his family is already involved and is aware of his deteriorating mental health. I believe he has been medicating himself behind my back for a while too. I have tried to help him but I cannot be dragged down while going to college for my degree. if he has become addicted to pain killers then he is going to be moody and will lie. also his appearance will become less important. i don't think that viral meningitis causes mental health problems. i had a friend who had it and recovered very well, he may have already had a mental health issue that he was hidding from you and is choosing to self medicate with painkillers. so he deffinatly needs help coming off the painkillers and you might want to point him in that direction. if he is short tempered and unpredictable when you do decide to break up with him you might want to make sure that you are in a safe place. maybe also talk to his family about your concerns and let them know what you are planning on doing. hope that this helps and good luck his addiction could very well do him in...so i think thats that You're going to leave your boyfriend after he suffered brain injury from going on vacation with you?? take him to the doctors. tell him you have a problem and you want him to be there for you. Try to increase his will-power, p. follow these : I think he'll better but I'm not sure if he'll get off the pain pills. |
