Does a mental health disorder always accompany murder or rape? |
So, I've been seeing what I view as a lot of justification for murder or rape because the said abuser must have a 'mental health disorder', is it possible that one could be a murder or rapist because they're violent and disgusting, without having mental health issues? No, you could just be evil and possessed by the devil to You don't have to be mental ill to do bad things like murder and rape. I have mental illnesses and I am not going out murdering or raping people. I know it is a sick world out there, but not everyone is mentally ill to commit such acts. Not always but Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is common most, if not all rapists have had something tragic in their childhood to make them want to harm other people Sort answer - yes, it is possible that one could murder or rape someone just because they're violent and disgusting. A lot of people who rape or murder are not psychologically sound and have some type of mental illness. Even so, this does NOT make what they did "okay." It might make it easier to understand how a human being could do such a thing, but it is not an excuse. Yes. It is possible and in fact I would say thats the case for the vast majority of people. Studies suggest that a large portion of people in jails have something called antisocial personality disorder. This is a personality type-one that has no remorse or respect for the rights of others-and not a mental illness. They are entirely responsible for their actions. Anybody accused of murder or rape will use any excuse real or not to get out of trouble. Mental illness is easier to fake or make believable. Few murders and rapist are mentally ill and few mentally ill people are murders and rapist. there is sometimes a history of a mental illness of people WHO commit violent acts . however, not always . Not always, but it's pretty common for people in prison to have mental health disorders. Also, it's not unusual for lawyers to claim some kind of mental disorder in trying to get their clients a lighter sentence or to have them declared "not guilty by reason of insanity." However, a lot of criminals have well-documented mental disorders and they are found guilty anyway (they have to prove they couldn't tell the difference between right and wrong). Yes, I think someone could be antisocial and their behavior is completely related to getting their needs met without any consideration of others. |
