Mental Health Issue? |
I feel that my wife is facing some mental health issues and is "shutting down" and has receintly told me she is leaving me. She needs some sort of help and I don't know where to go, and she is refusing help from anyone. Any ideas on how to help her? try to find out what are her future positive projects .leaving you isn't one i hope.. anxiety i think visit www.yourdietfood.com free and very good four you Leave her alone. Maybe you are the cause. just take her to the Dr with out telling her cause it sounds like she seriously needs help sometimes the best way to help is to tell her that you are there for her if she feels like sharing her thoughts. But most importantly, do not interrupt her or get angry when she expresses feelings. If you really want to help...let here express them without making her feel guilty. Since she needs help and refuses to get it you can have her commited if the judge sees your complaint is valid and is not just your way of getting back at her. The question you need to ask yourself is "does anyone else think the same thing about her?"...friends, family, etc. If you are the only one I would say to leave it alone, you can't force someone to get help and the reality is, if you are the only one that sees it, maybe she is not the one with the problem. If your (and hers) family and friends also see a possible problem then you should collaborate with them on a proper course of action. You think because she's leaving you shes mental and that she needs help........maybe she thinks the exact same about you and thats why she is leaving .............because you obviously have no faults and are perfect in every way A person who is a good counsellor that you trust can help you - You go to find one that You trust - test the water yourself. If she is a danger to herself and to others, you can have her committed and checked out by psychaiatrists in a clinic for a time limit of 72 hours. If they decide that she is seriously ill, they can make their recommendations. There is help to be found. She would have to be the one to participate in getting better though. You can't force wellness on her. Ultimately...she is the person who agrees as to what is going to be done. I hate to say this as it may not even be true, but if you get the feeling she is shutting down and wants to leave you, what part are you playing. Does she say what your doing to make her want to leave? If not, I would think she may have the hots for someone else or is having an affair. I hope I'm wrong. How old is she? If she is going through menopause that would make her have mood swings. Has she lost a parent recently? It would also be helpful to know how long you've been married. If only for a short time, maybe married life isn't what she thought it would be. If you've been married a long time maybe you have to reconnect. Did you have kids that grew up and move out? Maybe she feels an empty nest syndrome. Don't make her think she has a mental problem. It could be a lot of things it could be. How is she around her family and friends? Do they notice anything different. She could be in a depressive state. Be supportive and maybe start out with some marriage counseling and go from there. |
