Excess Menstruation is caused due to fat? How true is this?

I have heard that excess menstruation is caused due to fat in the body, is this true? I also know that being skinny makes a girl have irregular periods but is it true for people being slightly chubby? I said "chubby" coz the girl i'm referring to isn't fat or obese but just kinda chubby...

It depends what you mean by excess menstruation....
does she have random periods..as in two times a month..or do you mean she bleeds really heavily during her period???

...weight plays a huge part in periods...

if a women is unhealthy then her body will find it hard to menstruate at all...
unhealthy is referring to someone who over eats or under eats
and therefore she wont have a period...this will also signify that she may never be able to have children...and will also ruin her body forever...

If a women is healthy...eats well, not over weight or under weight..'this is referring to chubby babes as well'..then she will have normal periods,
every women has a different 'flow' some have really really heavy painful periods which may last anything from 3-11 days and most women have light, pain free periods which last for again 3-11 days

Sometimes a women's body can have two periods in one month...

and many women can have their period everyday for a few months due to stress or anxiety...for this you will need to go to the Doc's as it is very harmful to your health.

Hope i have helped.

not true. skinny people just don't have enough nutrients to even have a period.

It is... EXTREAMLY untrue...
No worries.

Never heard of the chubby theory.
The reason super skinny girls stop having periods is because their body is shutting down and to conserve fuel..it stops the periods.

Not true. I'm overweight and I skip my period all the time. That's probably hormonal though, the docs can't figure out what is wrong with me.
But usually if you're either overweight or underweight, you'll have an absence instead of an excess.

It depends on the female body. Each body is different according to thyroid, hormones, metabolism, weight, heredity, or size.

Skinny and fat girls can have Endometriosis, which is a thick bloody lining in the uterus that last for days and days. It's very painful.
Or menopausal women can have strong periods, then no periods.

Nope, it is not true. I am "very skinny" but have super crazy periods, and I eat a normal amount/more than an average person. It is dependant on a variety of things, not just diet or weight.

that is udder nonsense. The only time weight may affect the cycle is when you have a completely anorexic woman... thier periods are often non existent.

it depends on the woman...i have seen BBW's (which is the word you could sub in for fat as well) with no periods like my wife...and others who only stop their peroid except for a week here or there...there is no method of finding out other than looking
