I am 23 yrs old (24 later this month). Is it possible I could be going through menopause? I have read up on it and I have a lot of the symptoms. There is a blood test your doctor can give which shows whether you are entering menopause or not. Menopause is the cessation of your body producing the female hormones estrogen and progesterone. This can happen naturally with aging or can be a result of injury to your uterus or fallopian tubes....it is possible to start menopause at any time in life. Unfortunately if you have a male doctor, he will tell you that you are too young and send you away. I suggest you find a female doctor to discuss your concerns with and ask her to give you that FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) test (blood test) which will show for sure if your hormone production is decreasing. It is possible but not likely. Your hormone's may be messed up. Taking birth control could help. Also get thyroid checked |
