Menopause !!? |
what does menopause means?i am 47 years old did not get my period since 2 weeks now thanks There are several factors that come into play when trying to determine when menopause will begin for a specific woman. Family heredity often influences when you will approach this milestone. For example if your mother was menstruating until her late 40s or beyond, the chances are good you will too. Other factors like women's health can influence menopause. Certain disorders and diseases of the reproductive system can result in a hysterectomy at a young age and change what nature intended. With no external influences, like illness, the average of menopause onset is 45 to 60. you stop the ability to create life Well you are about the age for Menopause to start up. It will usually begin by giving you irregular periods, and the periods will become lighter. Plus a big clue is the "hot flashes", or night sweats. You should see a doctor. They can give you a test for your hormones to see whether or not you are going through menopause. u may be pregnant. Or, since u r getting older, some women loose their period forever :) and cannot get pregnant any more. you kidding? you cant get to 47 and not know! lol 2 weeks is nothing that's about half a cycle. when period stops completely that is menopause. You are probably in peri-menopause. These are the years before you stop having your period and are no longer able to have kids. Peri-menopause can last up to ten years before your periods actually stop all together. This also means your hormones are changing and you periods will start to become irregular. You are probably lacking progesterone, which is a hormone. You should speak to your doctor about it. your doctor can give you hormones to take that will help with the changes in your body. Menopause means literally the permanent or natural cessation of the menstrual cycle. It signals the end of the fertile phase of a woman's life. If a woman's uterus is removed at some point in her life before she has gone through a natural menopause the removal of the uterus will signal the end of her fertility but as long as her ovaries are still intact and functioning she is not in menopause. Natural menopause is triggered by the shutting down of the ovaries [or removal of the ovaries]. The ovaries are part of the endocrine system of hormone production...in other words they make reproduction possible and influence sexual response. The average age of menopause is early 50s. Premature menopause refers to experiencing menopause before the age of 40. There are other reasons for early menopause such as chemotherapy or serious illness. Perimenopause or transition years refers to the period of time before and after the last monthly cycle when a woman may experience hot flashes, memory lapses, irritation, fatigue, insomnia, etc. Premenopause refers to the years leading up to the last period. Postmenopause refers to the rest of the woman's life after cessation of the monthly cycle. Any woman who still has an intact uterus and has gone 12 calendar months without a period or any spotting is considered to be postmenopausal. It could be that you have reached the years of perimenopause when the monthly cycle becomes very erratic and you may go many months without a cycle and then suddenly have a period that may last weeks or months then stop for a few days and start up again. This is due to the decrease in hormones which fluctuate wildly. Ask you doctor for a blood test which detects the levels of FSH [Follicle Stimulating Hormone] which are very high in postmenopausal women. Menopause is a stage in life when a woman stops having her monthly period. It is a normal part of aging, marking the end of a woman's reproductive years.More information and remedies at http://useinfo4.blogspot.com/ |
