Meningitis and Pararnoia?

My friends daughter has been in hospital for 10 days with meningitis. She is now home, but she is paranoid. Really paranoid. She thinks that we are all plotting against her and that the house is bugged and that the army is syping on her. Does anyone know anything about paranoia and if there is a connection to the meningitis?

Several diseases like malaria cause delusion. Germs can damage the brain so can medicines. The brain will need to recover. Be glad that you are not at a funeral. Meningitis is extremely serious and leaves many deaf, blind or dead. Try to use home remedies to treat diseases when the are just starting and the body has a chance to fight them.

If this is true, I would guess it would be drugs she has not taken the last 10 days due to her sickness, or side effect of some she has taken. Meningitis does not cause paranoia.

Confusion is a sign of meningitis, it might be that is the cause. Also she has been though a very traumatic illness. You didn't say how old this girl is, or what type of meningitis she had. Give her a few days, and if she is still paranoid, you might want to discuss this with the Dr.
