I had Viral meningitis about 6 months ago?

My symptoms to begin were nausea for a day fever chills, and my skin hurt. The next day an extreme headache...worst headache of my life. I went to the emergency room, they did a lumbar puncture and they diagnosed me with Viral meningitis. While i was there i had to have 2 lumbars done because the docs didnt get enough fluid out of the first puncture. After that I had to get a bood patch because the fluid was leaking. (What a nightmare) My question is; is common to catch meningitis twice in 1 year? I ask becaue i am having the same exact symptoms as last time....Nausea for a day alon with the chills and sore skin..and now a blazing headache that has been on going since yesterday around 4:30pm/////Is it possible that a blood patch can still leak after 6 months....???? What do you think?

technically if you are really unlucky you could get viral meningitis twice in a year. It is a virus but you could just have a different strand of the virus. Trying turning your neck side to side and up and down if you are unable to do so I would most dfinately go to the ER and be sure to tell them you past history of it.

Call your doctor. If you again have that kind of headache or neck pain go to the emergency room. Either one, just see someone today.

You need to go see a doctor NOW.

This is a serious condition, you could have a secondary infection that has set in.
