About Meningitis? |
If someone had meningitis when they were little, and now they are teens do they still have it? My friend told me she had meningitis and hepatitis b when she was like 5 -6 and now she is 15 Meningitis may be viral or bacterial, and it's not exactly rare in infancy, though the incidence falls after about age 3. Normally, bacterial meningitis is much more serious, but when adequately treated normally there's a cure within a couple of weeks. Viral meningitis may linger a while longer, but it's usually much less serious, and often caused by the same viruses that cause other viral illnesses. Again, there's full recovery in a matter of weeks. i dont know how somebody at a small age would get menigitis. Because Menigitis is a dieseas that girls get when they share soft drinks or have sex with guys. do I wouldn't know how to answer that! well it takes about 10 years for disease antigens to leave the body completely, so it depends on the age you had meningitis, and the age you are now- but be careful just in case They usually isolate you from everything in the world so you wont spread it till you get better. My friend had to drop out of high school cause he got meningitis and missed 5 months of school. But I see him at parties now, so I think you can't spread it. It won't "carry" in the person's blood stream from a previous time but, because of the seriousness and the way it left the person's bloodstream who has had it, they can't be blood donors. To have it again, the previous "infectee" has to be re-infected. |
