Viral Meningitis? |
My boyfriend (40 years old) is just getting over being extremely sick with viral meningitis. He came home from the hospital yesterday after being there for 3 days. He's not back to work full-time yet but stopped into his office today. I just spoke with him and he's telling me that he's feeling cognitively slow and very emotional. I was with him over this entire ordeal...spinal tap and all and saw him at this worst. He told me that he didn't like me seeing him so helpless but I told him, who else would he rather be at his side? We're very close and this experience brought us closer but I'm concerned about his mental and emotional state. Any thoughts? Reassure him that drowsiness, lack of energy, confusion, memory problems and unusual emotional behavior are all symptoms of meningitis. These symptoms will subside as he gets over this illness. |
