What problem can a frontal lobe meningioma cause? |
my aunt was diagnosed with a frontal lobe meningioma about 9-12 months ago.the doctors said they weren't going to operate just gonna keep a watch on it.not to long after that she could not keep her head held up.like her head just fell forward.then alot of pain started in the back and side of her neck.and now one of her eyes kind of looks up .im wondering if this type of tumor can cause all these problems...THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!!! Yes, it can. Meningiomas are "usually" non-cancerous about 90% of the time. They can also be cancerous as well, about 10% of the time. The location you are referring to could cause pressure on the part of the brain that controls memory, so she may have trouble remembering things or as the meningioma expands in size, it can also cause symptoms similar to a stroke...loss of control of bodily functions on the side of the body affected by it, or loss of coordination. This can include the loss of mucles control of the head and neck that you are describing. |
