Does anyone out there suffer with Meniere's Disease? |
I've had Meniere's Disease for almost 4 yrs. now. There is no known cure for it. I used to take anti-vertigo medications for it and hydrochlorthizide, but nothing actually works. I have decreased loss of hearing in my left ear and slowly it is getting worse. My sense of balance is poor and for long walking distances I need to use a quad cane. I am 41 yrs. old and a female. People sometimes looks at me funny when I walk into a store. People don't bother me as a general rule, but sometimes I hear little kids snicker and make fun of me. How do I look upon this disease in a positive way? I feel very fortunate I don't have other diseases. I just need input from others who have this disease and how they deal with it on a daily basis. If there are any doctors out there that know of this disease I gladly welcome their opinions as well. My uncle had Meniere's and his was cured. He lost his hearing in one ear in the process, but they cured it. You need to see another doctor. He was cured almost immediately after he was diagnosed. It's a common cure, not one of those that is not well known. So just go to another doctor. I am sure they will know what to do! |
