Is Meniere's disease and depression related some how? |
I'm having problems with both. I DONT THINK THEY ARE RELATED, IVE HAD MENIERES FOR YEARS NOW, SINCE 1989 I ALSO HAVE THE HORRIBLE RINGING IN MY EARS, TINNITUS AND SOMETIMES IM FINE AND THEN FOR NO REASON THE SPINNING AND RINGING START AGAIN... LAST WEEK WAS HORRIBLE, MY SPINNING USUSALLY ONLY LASTS A FEW MINUTES BUT LAST WEEK I COULDNT KEEP MY EYES CLOSED OR OPENED EVERYTHING IN THE ROOM WAS SPINNING SO FAST, AND THE VOMITING THAT COMES WITH IT IS TERRIBLE....THIS TIME IT LASTED FOR A GOOD 12 HOURS,,, I HAD TO TAKE A SLEEPING AID BECAUSE I COULD NOT ENDURE THE SPINNING ANY LONGER, WHEN I AWOKE IT HAD STOPPED....THANK GOD.... IM SO GLAD U CHOSE MY ANSWER, I KNOW HOW FRUSTRATING MENIERES IS, AND THE RINGING SOMETIMES MAKES ME THINK IM GOING CRAZY....GLAD THE OVER THE COUNTER STUFF DID SOME GOOD.....BYE FOR NOW AND HOPE YOU DONT HAVE TOO MANY BAD DAYS...... BYE FOR NOW, KAREN ROSE MELROSE PARK ILLINOIS...... Report It I certainly think having Menieres disease would make me miserable...talk to your doc about it. No they are not related...but I think people with it get depressed I have problems with my ears I can't hear real will it effects everything....relationships and such, work and so on.... I don't know you or your medical history. I don't know which came first..the Meniere's or the depression. Only you know that. I do know that having Meniere's can cause situational depression in some. Either way, get treatment for both. |
