I have a rotten tooth on the top left side of my mouth. it seems to hurt my ear, and I'm experiancing vertigo

I have really bad problems with my teeth and just finished taking clyndimycin for an abcess. But I can feel that my left molar on the top is rottening away, I can also see it when I get a mirror in there. Today my inner ear has been bothering me badly, then earlier I was laying on the couch watching america's most wanted and I had the worst dizzy spell I think I have ever had. It lasted a minute or so and went away, then about ten minutes later another one came so I looked it up in this medical book I got from my pharmacy and it seemed to me I was experiencing vertigo rather then lightheadedness or dizzyness as I was laying still the whole time. Now it keeps happening. The book says it could be from an ear infection. I know when my teeth are bad it hurts my ear, could this be what is causing the vertigo. The book also said it could be Meniere's Disease, which runs in my family. My dad does and his dad did suffer from meniere's. It's gotten to the point where I've nearly lost my dinner.

I am telling you this from my experience, same had happened to me too.

You may have a condition known as Bruxism (aka Teeth Grinding). You may do this while sleeping without being aware of it. It can cause tooth injury and pain in the ear and Jaw joints (TMJ).
OR
You already know that your top left tooth is rotting. Above the upper jaw are the sinus cavities. Sometimes the infection from tooth can burrow a hole into the sinus cavity and start filling it with pus and other stuff. This will make your head pain & feel heavy. In worse case it can cause loss of balance when you suddenly try to stand up or move abruptly.

Also a nerve from the upper jaw passes close to the inner ear, and that can carry the pain from tooth to the inner ear or pain from the inner ear to the tooth.

In my case, I had to extract all my wisdom tooth and my ear pain and tooth pain vanished overnight.

Whatever it is, you need to see a dentist or a doctor ASAP before this becomes something ugly. And once you find out what had happened, do let us know what was causing the pain in your ear & the tooth.

You need to call your urgent care.. or the dentist that gave you the meds for the abcess you could get a lot worse .

Sounds like you have an infection in your jaw which is obviously getting worse, so it's travelling to your inner ear, hence the lightheadedness. Until you sort out your jaw (tooth) problem, it will not get any better, taking medication will numb the symptoms but not cure the cause.

Some of that contaminated rot contains lethal bacteria that can break off and travel through your bloodstream to your heart and kill you instantly. So for god's sake, call your doctor and dentist right now!

With any luck, as bad as it sounds you may have had the infected tooth go into your ear canal. I hope it is not Meniere's disease my mother has it, and there are times she is debilitated and now deaf in one ear. See both your dentist and an ear throat and nose specialist.

You should really have your teeth looked at and have that bad tooth pulled out and if the other symptoms still occur then, go to the doctor for them, but quite worring so much and take care of the problems that you know you have first.

it sounds to me that big problem is with your brain, if you can read a book why can't you go to the dentist, or brush your teeth.

Co-codamol if you can get hold of it ! and then to the dentist for some serious tooth pulling when the swellings gone down ,you also need an appointment with the quack to verify the symptoms of vertigo. He or she knows best

Stop your speculations and see your dentist pronto. I have recently had my upper left molar attended to and my left earache and pain above left eye has vanished.
