Metastatic Melanoma patients chance of survival through BioChemotherapy?

My dad has Metastatic Melanoma stage four, and is currently being treated. Something called Biochemotherapy. I read a medical document stating patients taking this treatment will live longer. Stats: Overall response rates in phase II trials are 40% to 60% with complete responses of 10% to 20% and median survivals in the 11- to 12-month range. Modifications of concurrent biochemotherapy regimens have maintained efficacy and reduced toxicity. Small phase III trials suggest a survival advantage of biochemotherapy (P=.05).
His doctor says he will live two to six months, but I want to help him out by finding an alternative cure that will extend his life span. please tell me taht Chemobiotherapy works for ALL patients...

Anyone that tells you any treatment works in all situations is not telling you the truth. There is no alternative cure for metastatic melanoma. Your father has an aggressive cancer but it appears he is receiving cutting edge treatment for it. Hopefully he will be in the percentile that responds. That is the best you can hope for and that is the truth. good luck to you both
