Did anyone get melanoma? I got it on my ear last year and had it surgically removed.? |
It has been one year, so far, no new melanoma's. Mine was a Clark Level III 1.19 deep. I always wore sun screen, but we often miss behind our ears. The Doctor said they are seeing a lot of melanoma 1 in 70. Anyone else get this form of skin cancer or know someone? I do know someone who had a melanoma removed years ago, and unfortunately another reappeared and was removed too late, it had spread and the person died. My husband had melanoma. I don't recall the stage or the size. He had a mole on the inside of his elbow that he had seen change rather fast. He went to his doctor, had a biopsy done. Within a few days of the return of the path report he went to the doctor to have it removed. Even though it was a small mole the doctor had to go quite a bit larger to make clear margins... and it was quite deep. The scar, even 6 years past, is quite visible and larger than you would think. He still works outside and does not wear sunscreen.......... ! I think this is rather foolish of him. |
