Can I have melanoma is more than one spot? supeious? |
I had melanoma removed from my arm last week and went into the doctor today to have a follow up and he removed two more moles (one on back and the other on stomache) that look supieous. Is it possible that I can have melanoma in these areas as well? Melanoma can metastasize to all parts of the body but the diagnosis now is only suspicious, not confirmed. A pathologist needs to confirm the actual diagnosis, so for the moment, there is nothing you can do. We normally remove moles as a potential source of melanomas, and many physicians tend to reccomend removal...whether or not there is any sign of the mole being potentially malignant. If the mole has increased in size or if the texture or the nature of the mole has changed, then removal is warranted, but often moles are benign. Yes it is possible and probable. My aunt had melanoma in 12 different spots on her body from tanning. The way you can keep from being so afraid is to not speculate. Only stick with the facts. Ask your doctor. Yes you can have it on you face, back, stomach in fact all over your body. Be sure to check out any suspicious bumps or moles YES IT IS BUT I HOPE THEY AREN'T. GOOD LUCK |
