Removal of Melanoma?

I have had a removal of melanoma from my scalp
0.04cm (early stage) all biopsy margins were clear.i have follow up appointment.will i be offered ct or mri scan .....? or should i ask..

You could ask for one if it would make you feel better, but most probably won't detect anything since melanomata don't usually spread to contiguous structures and are seeded through the blood to other internal organs.
What l think you need to ask for is a blood test for tumour markers like alpha-foeto protein which rise when there is metastases or spread.
But of course this must have already been done and found negative before taking the decision to remove the melanoma surgically.
So,l don't think you should worry.
But ask for anything you want, don't be shy or intimidated...it's your body and health and you'll feel better for the explanations and counselling you recieve.

id ask and do whatever they think, personally i doubt it spread anywhere, sounds like you caught it very early

first of all your consultant will discuss with u the findings of ur biopsy and explain fully wat he or she she thinks that the further treatment of ur condition is more than likely u wont need any further treatment only observtion don't worry take each day as it comes!! good luck
