T cell replacement for melanoma? |
I was wondering if anyone has gone through a t cell replacement due to advanced stage of melanoma. My husband has melanoma on his organs and they have suggested we go to Bethesda Maryland and participate in a t cell replacement study. would like to hear what to expect and some statistic involving this. if anyone out there has done this or has tried something else, i would love to hear from you. thanks. I was suprised to see the amount of research being done with T cells in regard to melanoma. From what I gather the treatment does a better job of stopping the growth more so than reducing the cancer. If you are to be involved in a clinical trial at Bethesda then part of the trial's ethical requirements will be telling you in advance of their prior experiments and trials using the same or similar treatments. I do not know about the particular trial you are talking about but there have been some very successful trials recently for advanced melanoma. If your husband is for going ahead with the trial, you should try and do it. good luck to you both |
