What does "melanoma" actually mean? |
I was just curious about what latin words made up melanoma... Latin > Greek "melas" = black melan...having to do with skin pigmentation,(color), and oma, is the condition, (growth) Medically It means black tumor. Melanoma usually means black, which indicates cancer, usually skin cancer. it is a word used for cancer of the eye Not sure about the latin history of the word, but, you probobly already know, melanoma is skin cancer. It doesn't break it down to "latin words" .
