I would like to know what Rhizome *** Tacitus Hellebore is and what is it's medicinal use.?

I got this herb in Latvija from a friend who was taking it for cleansing the insides and for bloating. The directions are all in Russian which I don't understand. I would like to have as much information as possible on this and what it does for your body. I seem to be losing weight despite not really doing much to lose weight and my bowel movements have changed. I had a colonoscopy but they didn't find anything but sent some samples to the lab. I thought I may have bowel cancer since I had all the symptoms. Does this herb help you to lose weight, or maybe alter your metabolism? I dont exercise much and still eat sweets and some fried foods now and again. My friends all comment on my weight loss and that I am looking good and healthy and my skin looks good. I am 61 and all my life I have struggled with weight. I only have to look at food and I put on weight. So I can't understand this change and wondered if it was to do with this herb I am taking. Is there any literature on this herb?

The name of the herb is Rhizoma *** radicibus Hellebori

This I believe is also known as "stinking hellebore" and you can do a search on this term and will find some info about it. It is called this because when the flower blooms it smells exactly like a skunk that has sprayed.
It sounds as if ou are taking this without knowing anything about is and it is having so far a good effect.
In Russia and eastern Europe countries they have great volumes of knowledge about various herbs and use them for all sorts of purposes but you will not find any info on this herb or it's uses in the US. It is extremely rare in this country and my friend who had it in his garden, in full stinking bloom, was the head botonist for the National Botanical Garden and had personally imported it from some other part of the world.

It is the rhizome or root of this beautiful but smelly flower. I will never forget seeing that thing. Hellebores are very beautiful but very unusual looking and this one was actually brown with a ligher cream colored center. It stood about a foot tall. My friend refered to it as the "stinking hellebore" and indeed you could smell it from a distance of about 12 feet and would swear that a skumk had sprayed.
As I say here in the USA we do not use this particular plant for a herb to ingest.
