Does anyone know of a Denist that accepts Medicare or Medicaid for an adult woman? |
I feel so sorry for my long time friend because she has alot of teeth that need to be worked on and cannot afford to go to the dentist! She's on S.S. disabiltiy for a car accident she had years ago. Medicare and Medicaid pay for all of her doctors visits, hospital visits and medications but NOT ONE DENTIST VISIT! The medications she has had to take over the years and her bad thyroid has done a number on most of her teeth. I've received a couple of answers saying to possibly find a clinic for her to go to... but she needs some names of these places please! As I wrote, I already told her about going to University Hospital in Baltimore,Md. but it is pretty far for her to drive especially since she has a bad back from that car accident. Going there requires her to be there 2-3 days per week and 4 to 6 hours each visit. Most of that is just waiting time! Please...does someone actually know of a specific dentist or the name of a clinic in the Anne Arundel County, Maryland area? HELLO, Most states do not cover dental for adults. Some do pay for emergency extractions only, but you have to find a dentist that will accept it. Best bet is the dental school or look for a Community Dental Clinic. Many states have them and they do free work on people like this but there is usually a waiting list. The dental hygienist who just replied is correct. Let me suggest this. If you go to Craigslist.com, and place a free ad, you can find lots of dentists that will trade or barter for their dental work, so your friend will not be out of pocket cash. Maybe your friend can trade some skill such as making a webpage or office cleaning, etc. This may be a solution. Another way is to visit a dental school to find a dentist that might be able to help as a new graduate or something. http://www.todaysmedicare.com |
