Does medicaid pay for braces? |
I am 21 years old and I am on full coverage medicaid and I live in Indiana... I was wondering if medicaid would pay for metal braces for you teeth or atleast pay for some of the cost! only answer is you know unless you have a dentist that says it's medically necessary then Indiana medicaid won't cover braces. They do cover so many fillings a year for adults a cleanings and caps and I am sure some other stuff. I live in Indiana and know many people who have or has been on medicaid. Hope this helps. nope they wont medicaid doesnt do any dental work other than pull teeth and give you cheap false teeth. im from indiana and i had a son in law on medicaid, so i do know, braces are not an absoloute necessity so they wouldnt pay a cent. They cover NO dental for anyone over 21.. I wish they did.. I desperatly need to see a dentist but medicaid won't cover it.. Most docs wouldn't take medicaid if they did because of the problem with the cost and payment.. Medicaid only pays every few months and tells the MD how much they will pay.. For every medicaid patient they might get $75.. for insurance and private pay, they can charge $150-200.. Medicaid will only pay what they think is necessary..they don't consider that necessary. No they won't. |
