Medicaid vs medicare why do the poor get rewared?

HELP!MY mom suffers from deminta and she can not get help in ny , we live on long island, the only places that can help her are for medicaid people only, THIS IS TOTALLY UNFAIR you work so you get sc---d and people who do not work get help I cant even get a person to come our small apartment to make sure my mom is ok WHAT A JOKE EVERYBODY WRITE TO YOUR LOCAL CONGRESSMEN OR WOMEN

Because this is America. You do not have to be 65 to get medicare but you have to be 65 to get full benefits without being penalized for additional income. Check with the medicare department for complete details. Medicaid is both a state and federal program. It is a matching program using both state and federal funds but the state administers it and determines eligibility.

Medicaid (State) Medicare (Federal)
To be eligible for Medicaid that person has to apply with social services of that state. To be eligible for Medicare that person must be 65 years old (worked and paid medicare taxes or spouse paid medicare taxes); received Social Security Disability, on the 24th month after receiving disability that person is eligible to enroll in Medicare. A person who is on dialysis is also eligible to enroll in Medicare. A person who has been diagnosed ALS can possibly be eligible for Medicare. Call 1-800-772-1213 for more information about Medicare eligibility.

Try looking at this site:

http://www.nofec.org/pages/resources.php...

It shows resources for New York that you might not have heard of yet. There are organizations that will support you in caring for your mother. Look at caregiver support online, too

Good luck, and I hope that you find the help that you need.

I pity those in need.

I know a woman who is too young for Social Security and too old for "men-to-car." (Medicare.)

I hope you get help.
