Will Pennsylvania medicaid cover dental work please read for further information I really need help on this? |
I am a stay at home mother I am engaged to be married in September but I don't have health insurance right now because I never needed it. I need to have some dental work done to have a filling repaired and a cavity fixed and I am not sure if Pennsylvania Medicaid will cover it. I am 21 and I just need the insurance to get the dental work done and that is it and then I will cancel it, I just need to know before I go and apply if anyone knows if I will be able to get it. Thanks in advance for all answers I am a single mother and a dental assistant. I am in the same shoes as you except my fiance is the one who needed the Medicaid. I live in Illinois and i have medicaid for my children and I. I do use it at the dental office. In the meantime of receiving the medical card you need to call various dental offices and ask the receptionist if they have a dentist that accepts medicaid. if they say no call another one then another until you find one that says yes. its not that hard. You can also ask your caseworker while applying for the medical card. I don't think that PA has dental coverage for adults. Definitely check into it though, because I'm not positive. If you can't get coverage, maybe you could check out a dental school in your area. The students may be looking for patients who need fillings. |

Since braces are considered cosmetic, medicaid will not cover them. (most health insurance won't unless the orthodontist is willing to get creative with the paperwork, which most will not.) ...
